Today is the official release day for the Liv Skirt, a free pattern offered by Sofilantjes. The Liv skirt is a short a-line skirt with a knit waist band (no elastic), and cute shallow pockets. The sizing starts at NB and runs through a child’s size 10. I have made 4 so far, two for each of my daughters. My oldest is wearing the 9/10 and the youngest a 3/4.
As with all of Sofilantjes’ patterns, the pieces all printed out with ease and fit together perfectly. She uses the layers feature in Adobe so you will only need to print the size you need. And as an added bonus, this pattern only has 6 pages to print! Just be aware that you will need to cut your back piece first. This is because you will need to cut away the pocket area on the top piece.
These skirts take very little fabric. For both skirts I used less than a half a yard of the main print. It makes it a perfect little item to whip up to coordinate with leggings or their favorite tops this winter. I made the girls Otium tops with bows on the back to coordinate with their skirts. This is another great pattern by Sofilantjes!
I am really happy with these skirts. I think they make such a cute and simple item for wearing this winter. I am going to attempt to make them into skorts for this summer! I really encourage you to go and try out this pattern by Sofilantjes. This skirt is a perfect example of what to expect from all of her patterns.
